Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! Also please join us in welcoming Tim Payne as our new superintendent! Tim comes to us with a strong background in education and extensive experience in leadership roles spanning more than 31 years! Please stop by and say “Hi” anytime!
Classes start Wednesday, August 28 at 8:25am and release at 3:05pm. Breakfast will be served at 8:05am for those interested. The cost will be free for all students again this year due to the House Bill 1238. In order for us to continue to offer free meals we must qualify for this bill every year so we encourage you to fill out the application for Free or Reduced-Price Meals that is included in the online registration, even if you think you may not qualify.
Online registration will begin August 1st. Please go to www.almirasd.org and click on “Qmlative family and staff access”. If you need help with your username or password, use the forgot username / password option. If you need assistance, please contact the school after August 16th. Hard copies are available at www.almirasd.org under Parent Resources - Enrollment forms.
Sports forms are included with online registration if for some reason you need hard copies; they are available at www.almirasd.org under athletics. If you do not have internet access, please contact us and we will mail the forms. Football and Volleyball practices start the first day of school, so forms will need to be completed prior to Aug 28th. Any student participating in a sport will be required to have an up to date sports physical and to purchase an ASB card at a cost of $20.00. There is also a $10 fee payable for each sport that your student participates in. There will be a $35.00 returned check fee for any check that is returned from our bank for any reason as required by the Lincoln County Treasurer.
Regarding attendance, it is required that a parent/guardian writes a note, emails or calls the school to excuse a student if they are absent. Please notify the school if you know of your student’s absence ahead of time, and we will prepare a pre-planned absence form so that they may get their homework in advance. A pre-planned absence is mandatory in order for your child to participate in sports practice or a game that day. If the student is picked up early or dropped off late, please come into the office and sign your child in or out.
Picture Day will be Friday September 6th, order forms will be sent home within the first few days of school.
Thank you for your attention to this information. We are looking forward to another great year.
